A Traditional Country Pub, A Free House & Community Asset
A bit about us and what we can do for you:
The ‘Oak’ is a typically warm and friendly village pub set in the glorious countryside between Leek in North Staffordshire and Macclesfield in South Cheshire. This is a proper country pub and, as you would expect, the bar area is dog and muddy boots friendly. Everyone is welcome; young, old, local or visitor – in short, anyone seeking refreshment and sustenance while enjoying the area we are lucky to be situated in will find a welcome at the ‘Oak’.
As a Free House we stock a diverse range of Cask Ales from local and national breweries. These are complimented by a great range of keg beers, ciders and lagers. Outside we have a large car park and two beer gardens for the good weather.
The pub sits close to where the three counties of Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire meet and where the Staffordshire Moorlands joins the Peak District. There are numerous walking and cycling routes close by and the ‘Oak’ is the perfect starting point for a walk around Rudyard Lake (with its Miniature Steam Railway) which is few hundred yards from our front door……. an excellent way to work up an appetite before eating in our restaurant or to work off what you have just eaten!
We may be a bit biased but we think that the ‘Oak’ is the perfect place to come for a relaxed, high quality and good value dining experience – for the old or young its a great place to come! Our highly respected Chef has created a menu that concentrates on high quality locally sourced produce. It offers something for everyone and there is always a daily selection of ‘specials’ which vary according to season.
Got an upcoming celebration, a social event or just a good old get together with a group of friends? Come to the ‘Oak’! We cater for groups and can easily adjust our menus to suit your needs and your party’s tastes.
